A floating fusion of textiles and light: Four top brands present themselves in an innovative architecture at ORGATEC 2024

Trendsetting office designs from expert teams
“Create, craft, connect” is the theme of the joint trade fair presentation by WALTER KNOLL, OBJECT CARPET, SATTLER and ZIMMER + ROHDE in Hall 5.2 – and their statement is already making a splash in the weeks leading up to ORGATEC. The overarching concept of their stand, which envisions the theme of new work from an entirely new perspective, was designed by the Ippolito Fleitz Group. The collaboration between the four premium manufacturers creates impactful spatial scenarios and groundbreaking inspirations for today’s high-quality working and living environments. The architecture of the exhibition stand translates the combination of skills and perfectly complementary collections into an extraordinary setting. Overlapping circular spaces form an architectural whole with individual rooms and intersections, a central open marketplace and separate themed areas. The 840-square-meter stand is a large architectural design in which textiles and light create a floating effect. With layers of transparencies, material collages and open views, visitors are invited to discover spatial scenarios, themes and product presentations.

Circular exhibition stand
Circles permeate more than just the formal design of the exhibition stand: the furnishings are also circular. The exhibitors will continue to use the furniture, curtains, carpets and lighting after the trade fair, while the structural elements are mostly rented from the exhibition builder and building management. Special constructions were kept to a minimum and consist of recycled and recyclable wooden panels.

New products and sustainability on all levels
Product quality, durability, material depth and sustainability are implicit principles shared by the four long-established companies, whose joint exhibition stand culminates in a central marketplace.

The collection from WALTER KNOLL inspires with its aesthetic presentation of floating textiles, colors, light and shapes. The new products and innovations also offer visitors engaging insights into the renowned company’s values, work methods and manufacturing practices. Foster + Partners and Walter Knoll have once again merged their expertise to present a fascinating symbiosis of traditional craftsmanship and modern material technology. In collaboration with the designers of EOOS, three new chair types have been created that embody the concept of evolutionary development and are being presented for the first time in Cologne.

OBJECT CARPET brings sustainable quality to the floor. The carpet specialist combines environmental protection with design to create unique, individual carpets that can be returned to the product cycle without any waste. Thanks to the revolutionary DUO technology, it only takes two materials – polyamide and polyester – to make exclusive, durable and resilient styles that elevate modern office architecture. The striking design of the new DUO products are raising the bar at the trade fair.

SATTLER GmbH offers special highlights, including the innovative moving luminaire PURE MOTION and the glare-free, solid floor lamp PALADIO FLOOR. In concert with additional office lights, ring lights and organic lamp shapes, they harmonize with the partners’ materials and installations. From a distance, this results in a harmonious realm in which a closer look reveals numerous details and achieves an inspiring spatial effect.

The textile company ZIMMER + ROHDE presents innovative furnishing textiles with sophisticated designs; here it is introducing a sun-protection fabric with reflective properties that enables glare-free working while making a positive impact on the room temperature. The company’s softly flowing blackout curtain is also making waves. With its two-tone, double-faced look, it is a good choice not only for windows but also room-dividing solutions.

Excellent standard for sustainable planning
he exhibition stand in Hall 5.2 is divided into themes relevant for each of the partners, and joint presentations impressively spotlight the companies’ high level of manufacturing expertise. Finely interwoven with layers of transparencies and exciting material collages, they brilliantly mix emotion and function. The four strong premium brands with their huge product variety – from carpets and furniture to textiles and lighting – enable comprehensive office concepts that go far beyond what was previously possible. At ORGATEC, they create an architectural whole with separate themed rooms and impress both as a team and as standalone manufacturers. However, shared values such as quality, durability, material depth and sustainability are always paramount. This is true not just for the products but also for all elements of the exhibition stand.
